Our youth deserve better. The Center for Innovation in STEM Education (CISE) is founded on the belief that if a child displays an interest in Science, 技术, 工程, or Mathematics, it is up to us to nourish that interest by providing a great 支持 system from which they can establish a solid foundation. With this in mind, we can ultimately improve the representation of students of color in STEM, prepare highly qualified teachers to teach in underserved communities, and diversify the STEM workforce.

The mission of the Center for Innovation in STEM Education (CISE) is to bring Science, 技术, 工程 and Mathematics to the forefront of K-16 education through leadership and service. CISE is a regional center focused on enabling transformative and inspiring STEM learning experiences. Our partnerships with 学校, 区, community colleges, local and national organizations, philanthropic and industry leaders serve to broaden our impact across institutions and our local and global community.

The purpose of the Center for Innovation in STEM Education is to establish, 支持, and improve STEM education and serve as a model and resource center for K-16 students and educators, local and national organizations and STEM industries. 目标 that CISE strives to accomplish are to:

  1. Establish CISE as a center that promotes the development of new knowledge and re搜索 with an emphasis on serving communities that are underrepresented in STEM disciplines. 
  2.  Serve as a model and regional resource center for K-12 STEM teachers, 学校, and 区 as well as other 基督教社会联盟 campuses with like programs. 
  3.  Increase the interest of K-16 students in STEM majors and careers. 
  4.  Help increase the representation of people of color and women in STEM fields. 
  5.  Increase the number of students in STEM majors. 
  6.  Increase diversity in STEM majors and careers. 
  7.  Support K-16 students’ academic excellence in STEM classes and majors. 
  8.  Develop the next generation of highly qualified and passionate STEM teachers who will be the leaders in STEM teaching practices. 
  9. Increase the number of credentialed teachers in the STEM disciplines. 
  10. Inspire STEM teachers and assist them in improving their pedagogical practices. 
  11. Contribute to long-term retention rates of highly qualified STEM teachers in public 学校. 
  12. Foster systemic change in STEM education through cross-sector public and private partnerships. 
  13. Offer high-quality STEM employment opportunities for 基督教社会联盟DH students, other college students, experienced K-12 educators, and other community members. 
  14. Support 基督教社会联盟DH’s overall mission. 
  15. Serve as model of aspiration in STEM teaching for other 基督教社会联盟 campuses.
